Whole Cloves
Madagascar is world renown for its spices, and cloves are no
exception.
Madagascar produces a significant quantity of whole, dried
cloves each year. Most of this production comes from
small-scale farmers, as many households in clove producing
regions have some clove trees on their land, often grown in
conjunction with vanilla vines, rice fields, coffee plants, and
natural forest.
Clove buds are ready for harvest between October and January,
and families and friends often work in communal groups to
harvest and dry their cloves.
At From the Field, we are developing programs to offer clients
high quality, whole cloves. The cloves are grown, harvested
and processed under organic conditions, and all of our farmer
partnerships are structured using Fair Trade guidelines.
Please contact us if you or your business is interested in
purchasing cloves. Clove samples may be available upon
request to bulk buyers.
